Product Dissection by Erik Boker | 13 Pics

The extent to which they’ve tweaked the culture of need now is outrageous. A lot of my work references taxonomy, and I am always fascinated by the lifeline of a product and its imprint as an artifact. My work also deals often with facade, and making a product anatomical and giving it some possibility of a prior pulse was curious to me. And playing with and appropriating notions of science is always a fun mode of work for me and important to my themes of museology and history and distortion. While at some level it’s revealing something strange and unseen and potentially horrifying, for me it’s also revealing something beautiful at the same time.
