He was a physician and philosopher born in Rapallo Italian scientist on Oct. 3 in 1577 and died on June 16 of 1657. According to legend was born premature at six months on a boat in the middle of a major storm between the coasts of Rapallo and Recco.
After fulfilling his early literary studies in his hometown studied at Bologna (Bologna) to complete the studies in philosophy and medicine. Around 1600 concluded studies in Bologna and is transferred to Pisa where I teach logic and philosophy between 1600 and 1609.
In 1609 succeeded professorship in philosophy at the University of Padova (Padua) He returned to Bologna in 1636 to work on the medicine until 1645, the year he finally returned to Padova and where he died in 1657.
His works were inspired by Aristotle, on time on studies of the cosmos, and that led to heated disputes with Galileo Galilei.
